We are a Seventh-day Adventist school established to educate, equip, and inspire students to be critical thinkers who serve others and reflect Christ’s character.
Welcome to the Greater Collegedale School System
We extend a warm welcome to all students and families within and those seeking information about the Greater Collegedale School System (GCSS). As the principals of the three campuses that make up the GCSS - A.W. Spalding Elementary, Collegedale Adventist Middle School and Collegedale Academy - we, with our faculty and staff, aim to “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these other things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33
The administration, faculty, and staff aspire to partner with students and families to help each child develop a vibrant, growing, and strong relationship with Jesus Christ. We want to see that our GCSS children and youth choose to follow and live for Him each day.
With this goal and proactive intentionality we believe that all the rest of the pieces that make up a successful school program will come into proper balance. In our academics, fine arts, athletics, social activities, and community service opportunities we want to seek and honor God in all we do.
Please contact us and connect with us. We welcome the opportunity to partner with your family in the education of your children.

“Collegedale Academy blesses our entire family. Our kids come home from school sharing ways they’ve learned to live out their faith. Those experiences come from the traditional academic classes; not only religion classes or their daily worships with the entire student body. The teachers take special interest in our kids’ daily lives; finding ways to connect and mentor them. We grow in our faith as we experience our children growing in theirs. We are thrilled that we – our kids and us as parents – are a part of the CA family!”
“It’s the best experience – excellent teachers, world class resources, Christian environment, and your children will be surrounded by a community and family that cares for them.”
“I began my career working in the public school system, which was a great experience. There was a major area lacking in my experience and that was the ability to share my love for Jesus with my students. My first experience was as a parent (my son and daughter are alumni of Collegedale Academy). I loved the programs CA offered; from elementary school through high school. I was excited to join the excellent team of teachers who not only were experts in their educational fields, but also demonstrated a personal relationship with the Lord.”
“Collegedale Academy has unparalleled resources for our elementary students. Each classroom is equipped with an Actiboard for teacher and student use, iPads for centers, and a teacher laptop. Several classrooms have implemented STEM stations and coding robots. CA also has a Learning Shop taught by Melissa Ammerall. She completes testing for our school, tutoring, and provides instructional opportunities and resources for struggling students.”

“We chose the early childhood program at CA because of the caring, attentive, Christian teachers and staff. We also loved that our son would be able to attend the same school system from Preschool-12th grade.”
“We knew we wanted our kids to go to an Adventist high school, but we didn’t like the thought of sending away to a boarding school. We are so fortunate to have an Adventist “day school” nearby as an option. The teenage years are such a very important time in a child’s life. I’m glad they can be home full time while we parent them. If you are looking for a school that is Christ-centered with Spirit-led administration and teachers, Collegedale Academy is the school for you.”
“I feel that the groundwork laid CA during middle school provided a smoother transition to the high school where my son continued to excel and my daughter is well prepped for success. And for this helicopter mom, the communication and organization at CA has been a tremendous improvement over what I experienced elsewhere in the past. But more than anything else, the love for Jesus and commitment to shaping our children’s future as Christians has been evident in every faculty and staff member that we’ve dealt with in the system.”
“Having taught at both small suburban schools, and larger schools like Collegedale Academy, I have really come to appreciate the amount of true all-around support from parents, grandparents, community and church members I see here at CA. Having so many hands on deck makes light, enjoyable work for everyone, and the kids really know how much they are loved and valued.”
