Community Service at Collegedale Academy: Serving with Purpose
At Collegedale Academy, community service is central to our Christian mission. We embrace the call to love our neighbors, instilling values of compassion, leadership, and civic responsibility through meaningful service.
Local Outreach and Key Initiatives
Service is deeply integrated into our students’ experience, with high schoolers completing at least 20 hours before graduation. In the 2023-2024 school year alone, students collectively contributed over 7,000 hours. Our partnerships with local charities, nonprofits, and global initiatives provide students with diverse opportunities to make a tangible impact, including:
CAD for HOPE Food Drive
A school-wide effort supporting The Samaritan Center by stocking their pantry for an entire year.
Partners for Eternity Program: Students form intergenerational relationships with senior mentors, gaining wisdom and offering support.
Monthly Visits to MorningPointe
Students bring companionship and music to residents of a local retirement community.
Blood Drives
Regularly hosted drives that supply local hospitals with life-saving blood donations.
Christmas Partnerships
Students assemble Christmas Boxes for Samaritan’s Purse and support children at Chambliss Home and Orange Grove.
THINK Leadership Conference
A middle school leadership event encouraging students to take on leadership roles in their communities.
Semester Service Days
Middle school students collaborate with organizations like the YMCA, Ronald McDonald House, and Tennessee State Parks.
Major Community Events
High school students volunteer at the Seven Bridges Marathon and Ironman, supporting athletes and the wider community.
Sandy Erickson Race for Christian Education 5K + Fun Run + Carnival
A school and community event raising funds for financial aid, honoring Sandy Erickson, who passed from ALS. A portion of the funds also supports ALS research.
