Academics at Collegedale Academy High School
Collegedale Academy’s high school program serves as the cornerstone of our academic community, attracting students from across the region and the country to pursue their high school education and earn their diplomas. At CA, we intentionally weave Christian values and spiritual growth into every aspect of student life, including academics, extracurricular activities, and all school events, ensuring a holistic approach to education. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our impressive 98% graduation rate, with approximately 96% of our graduates continuing their education at two- or four-year colleges and universities. Additionally, our students consistently outperform state and national averages on the ACT, underscoring the strength of our academic program.

Cultivating Academic Excellence
CA Scholars
The Scholars Program offers students a challenging, accelerated curriculum that can be personalized to align with their individual interests and goals. CA Scholars have the unique opportunity to petition for advanced courses that fit their academic schedules. Scholars are also given priority when selecting courses, allowing them to choose their classes a week before the general student body. Throughout the year, students participate in four field trips—two organized by the program and two proposed by students themselves. Courses taken through the program are graded on a 5.0 scale. Scholars also engage in research and job-shadowing assignments designed to connect them with community leaders and mentors. Additionally, a scholar’s project portfolio for their independent course can serve as a valuable resource for college scholarships, internships, and career opportunities.
Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society
The Mu Alpha Theta National Math Honor Society at Collegedale Academy was established to inspire a deeper interest in and enjoyment of mathematics among students. Being a member of this prestigious honor society not only highlights your dedication to the subject but also enhances college and job applications.
To qualify for Mu Alpha Theta, students must have completed Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2, and be currently enrolled in or have completed a higher-level math course such as Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, or College-Level Statistics (dual enrollment). Additionally, students must maintain a minimum math GPA of 3.5 and an overall GPA of 3.0.
Once accepted, members are expected to participate in monthly meetings, contribute 10 hours of math tutoring community service each year (with at least 5 of those hours spent in the Math Tutoring Center after school), and engage in special events such as Pi Day activities and the STEAM Expo.
Learning Support
Learning support is coordinated by Mrs. Andersen, our education specialists, through the Resource Center for Academic Fluency and Efficiency (CAFE). This valuable program was added in the 2009-2010 school year and provides a range of academic assistance to students with various minor learning challenges. Individual and small group tutoring are some of the key support services provided. The education specialist collaborates with the classroom teachers to modify and adapt instructional and assessment practices in order to better meet the individual learning needs of each student.
